As a Freight Settlement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our Global Logistics Center (G-LOC) by supporting our logistics cost controller department. You will play an essential role for establishing and nurturing this department, all while contributing significantly to the broader G-LOC team’s success.


Roles + Responsibilities

  • Establish and refine standard processes and SOPs for rate structure systems in our Global Logistics Portfolio.
  • Analyze procurement quotations to define, create, and maintain price components for Transportation (Courier, Express Road, Air Ocean, Rail) and Contract Logistics Services.
  • Administer and oversee duration of rate agreements with suppliers.
  • Oversee Logistics Service Provider (LSP) invoices, including various document types (pdf invoice, CSV validation), ensuring content alignment (charge codes) and format, re-upload as needed.
  • Review invoice discrepancies and lead communication to LSPs for clarification.
  • Proactively verify timely receipt of invoices from providers at the start of each month. 
  • Record and execute settlement of Spot market prices reported via ticket or IT systems.
  • Architect and establish comprehensive reporting and dashboards to assess KPIs in collaboration with management, encompassing aspects like invoices delivery and currency performance.
  • Facilitate onboarding and training of new LSPs. 
  • Conduct quantitative ad-hoc analyses, using visual analytics, development of algorithms and machine learning as needed.
  • Create data visualizations and dashboards (primarily using Tableau Software) for both financial and non-financial logistics aspects.
  • Collaborate closely with the business teams to understand business challenges and devise data-driven solutions.
  • Operate primarily within the cost control team while maintaining active engagement with the larger G-LOC team of 25. 


Qualification + Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Data Analytics, or related fields, coupled with several years of pertinent experience.
  • Strong experience in freight forwarding coupled with a strong affinity for data analytics. A secondary education with accounting background with logistics and freight costs focus would be an advantage.
  • Possess the knowledge of rate structures and day-to-day logistics operations to contextualize freight settlement.
  • Experience in crafting master data for rate management within the Logistics Cost Management Tool of business IT partners or familiarity with similar freight settlement tools.
  • Proficiency in Excel or similar tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) are desirable.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English. One additional language like Polish, German, Chinese would be an advantage.
  • Having a driver’s license would be a huge plus.
