The position of Procurement Specialist will support the operations of Global Logistics Operations Center (G-LOC) by ensuring relevant structures and arrangements are in place with transportation providers to deliver an efficient and cost-effective service in support of G-LOC requirements.

 

Roles + Responsibilities

  • Run or support tenders from Regional Hubs in (DE, US, CN, IN) as well as from 50 Sales Center worldwide 
  • Plan and develop tender documents including clarification of legal and business requirements and issues 
  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements to develop comprehensive tender RFQs 
  • Execute tender with electronic tendering tools 
  • Manage the evaluation process to agreed timeframes and internal deadlines 
  • Calculate and benchmark transportation costs in tender and for spot requests  
  • Given the RFP results, prepares recommendations for Steering Team decision-making 
  • Communication with Logistics Service Providers 
  • Regular monitoring of tender success and analysis of success factors 
  • Handover and close cooperation to Implementation Team and other stakeholders 
  • Support the team in ensuring agreed elements of contracts are adhered to and delivered by the LSPs 
  • Any other duties commensurate with your skills and experience and as directed by your manager in the development of the role and the G-LOC overall 


Qualification + Profile

  • Degree with a focus on logistics and or strong experience in logistics tender management especially in CEP 
  • Experience buying logistics service – air and ocean services 
  • A high degree of self-direction, initiative, and commitment 
  • Solution oriented with proven experience solving problems and implementing efficiencies 
  • Experienced in tender documents development 
  • Good knowledge of electronic tender tools, Excel, MS Word and Power Point 
  • Experienced in negotiation management 
  • Fluent spoken and written knowledge of English, one additional language like German and Chinese are an advantage
