The position of Procurement Specialist will support the operations of Global Logistics Operations Center (G-LOC) by ensuring relevant structures and arrangements are in place with transportation providers to deliver an efficient and cost-effective service in support of G-LOC requirements.
Roles + Responsibilities
Run or support tenders from Regional Hubs in (DE, US, CN, IN) as well as from 50 Sales Center worldwide
Plan and develop tender documents including clarification of legal and business requirements and issues
Work with stakeholders to understand requirements to develop comprehensive tender RFQs
Execute tender with electronic tendering tools
Manage the evaluation process to agreed timeframes and internal deadlines
Calculate and benchmark transportation costs in tender and for spot requests
Given the RFP results, prepares recommendations for Steering Team decision-making
Communication with Logistics Service Providers
Regular monitoring of tender success and analysis of success factors
Handover and close cooperation to Implementation Team and other stakeholders
Support the team in ensuring agreed elements of contracts are adhered to and delivered by the LSPs
Any other duties commensurate with your skills and experience and as directed by your manager in the development of the role and the G-LOC overall
Qualification + Profile
Degree with a focus on logistics and or strong experience in logistics tender management especially in CEP
Experience buying logistics service – air and ocean services
A high degree of self-direction, initiative, and commitment
Solution oriented with proven experience solving problems and implementing efficiencies
Experienced in tender documents development
Good knowledge of electronic tender tools, Excel, MS Word and Power Point
Experienced in negotiation management
Fluent spoken and written knowledge of English, one additional language like German and Chinese are an advantage
