Field Service Engineer – Process Instrumentation & Automation

Role + Responsibilities for a Field Service Engineer:

 

We are currently seeking an additional Field Service Engineer within the South. The role requires servicing, calibrating and fault diagnostics/repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.

 

Main responsibilities for a Field Service Engineer:

 

  • Commissioning, calibrating, and repairing onsite instrumentation.
  • Working in all industries within the Company customer database
  • Liaising with the Service Coordinators to ensure that all spares, tools, and paperwork is available to enable them to carry out their duties.
  • Liaising with customers when required prior to executing the job to ensure full understanding of the nature of the job and to advise estimated time of arrival and of any delays which may be anticipated.
  • Adhering to site safety rules, permit to work systems and carry out risk assessments.
  • Working to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and the Company quality management system.
  • Providing services and support to other departments and customers as deemed appropriate by the Services Manager
  • Timely and accurate job reporting in accordance with the Company service report forms.

 

Qualification + Profile for a Field Service Engineer:

 

  • Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level, preferably in Electronics or Instrumentation of control
  • Recognised apprenticeship in the above disciplines is ideal or a minimum of 2 years' Process Control experience.
  • Problem solving and diagnostic skills.
  • To be highly motivated and can work on own initiative or as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach to working activities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to develop good working relationships with customers.
  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  • A clean driving licence.
