Forberg Smith, a manufacturer's representative partner of Endress + Hauser Inc. is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated individual for a Technical Specialist position to join their team. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Technical Specialist is a key member of the Forberg Smith sales team. In the Technical Specialist role, the individual is responsible for outside customer sales and sales satisfaction through direct contact, phone, or other electronic communications. Sales functions include territory management covering the Bridgeville, PA area. Customer interaction activities, prospecting for new customers, contract/pricing negotiations, product presentation, inventory management, uncovering needs and closing sales.  The individual will be placed in an established account base and will be encouraged to achieve sales and margin objectives.

Role+Responsibilities

  • Manage a territory with a growth outlook and forecast analysis

  • Track records of sales success via software platform

  • Utilize strong product knowledge of supplier partners (Parker Instrumentation, Ashcroft, Burkert), to aid in application expertise, and pricing structures

  • Communicate clearly and efficiently, negotiate effectively, manage sales planning skills

  • Conduct customer visits and offsite work activities

  • Manage territory and customer base with small business owner mindset

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification+Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree, Technical Degree, or experience equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in sales
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Ability to learn business/distribution software package
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization 
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to boil down large datasets into actionable information 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Background in process sales, industrial sales, and experience with process control instruments (instrumentation fittings, valves, and gauges) preferred but not required
  • Must have a clean and valid driver’s license
