Miller Mechanical Specialties Inc., a manufacturer's representative partner company of Endress+Hauser Inc., is looking for a Field Service Technician to join their team to service the Des Moines, IA area. The position of Field Service Technician entails daily travel to their varied customers (including power, energy, process, municipal, chemical, mining, life sciences, pharma, food and beverage, and commercial) throughout our territory to service mostly instrumentation. These services include but not limited commissioning, diagnostics and repair, maintenance, calibration, training, and assist with troubleshooting. Travel is dynamic with customer needs and will be local as well as long distance. 

Role + Responsibilities

Duties to include but not limited to:

• Respond to inbound customer calls for sales, service and support,
• Assist customers with technical questions
• Assembling, servicing and calibrating instruments and valves in our shop and in the field
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair 
• Strong technical apptitude 
• Adaptiveness to various industrial environment requirements
• Articulate solutions & work with a team to execute
• Travel to customer plant locations for startup and service work

Qualification + Profile

• Associate Degree in Technical Field (Preferred)
• High School Diploma or equivalent (Minimum)
• Excellent communication skills and work ethic.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience multi-tasking and balancing many priorities
• Computer and Microsoft Office software experience.
• 2+ years of full-time work experience is helpful
• AutoCad or similar software experience would be helpful

• Field Experience (Preferred)

• Instrumentation training (Preferred)

• Calibration and/or Metrology experience (Preferred)

• Safety credentials (Preferred)
