What is the purpose of this role?

 

The Sales Engineer Gas Measurement is responsible for driving sales growth across projects, product sales (MRO), services (ad hoc), and service level agreements within the Gas Measurement division. This role ensures the seamless implementation of external sales processes, delivering exceptional customer support and satisfaction. The specialist will streamline and optimize sales workflows for efficiency.Acting as a key link between customers and internal stakeholders, the position plays a critical role in achieving revenue targets, enhancing customer experience, and supporting strategic business objectives.

 

Which tasks will you perform?

 

  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales budgets and gross profit margins for Gas Measurements.
  • Develop and execute a dynamic sales plan aligned with allocated budgets.
  • Maintain a project/opportunity funnel with coverage of ≥ 3× annual budget.
  • Position the company as a trusted solutions provider in target industries.
  • Identify customer requirements and specify appropriate products and solutions.
  • Prospect for new customers through networking, leveraging External Sales team from within the E+H sales community and cold calling while maintaining long-term relationships with existing accounts.
  • Supporting the development and growth of our Tier A, B, C & D customer accounts and creating Prosperous Account Strategy and Plans.
  • Manage leads and opportunities in CRM, ensuring timely updates and accurate data.
  • Submit weekly call reports and advance planning in CRM.
  • Ensure technical and commercial accuracy of proposals and confirm alignment with customer specifications.
  • Coordinate technical applications and product specifications with Product Managers.
  • Support internal teams in generating quotations and escalate risks when necessary.
  • Streamline and optimize external sales processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Act as local lead for global process implementation (ONE BPM) and roll out updates to the Sales National Team.
  • Support Lean and Kaizen initiatives to improve cycle time and quality.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of the analytical product basket and industry applications.
  • Demonstrate strong technical problem-solving skills during pre-sales and post-sales engagements.
  • Continuously develop product and solution knowledge via online tools and training.
  • Act with professionalism, courtesy, and a proactive attitude in all interactions.
  • Put the customer first while safeguarding company policy, margin, and risk standards.

 

What do we expect from you?

 

  • National Diploma in Industrial Instrumentation or,
  • N6 Diploma in Industrial Instrumentation or,
  • Trade Test Certificate in Instrumentation Mechanician 
  • 3 - 5 years+ Work experience in analytical equipment
  • Proven technical sales background in Industrial Automation
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Sound field analytical instrumentation knowledge
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Very Good administrative skills and pays excellent attention to detail  
  • Suitable process and application knowledge of analytical instrumentation
  • Service orientated, with strong interpersonal skills. Interested in learning the customer’s requirements, solving problems and making the appropriate and profitable recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette
  • Computer literate with very good knowledge of MS Office, CRM Systems and SAP
  • Can work independently
  • Ability to manage customer relationship and develop customers through our customer tiering segmentation.
